Story-At-a-Glance

Hey, Matt Cook here, and a few decades ago, vegetable oils were marketed as the solution to all health problems.

Nowadays most people are aware that vegetable oils are pretty bad for your health.

Fish oil, however, is still being marketed as a supplement that can prevent heart disease.

Here’s the truth about fish oil…

Infamous grow your member formula

I first discovered the “paint it on and watch it grow” formula years ago, before I was a full-time health researcher…

I was running my own alarm company with a buddy of mine…

And one day, we have a client who has the biggest house we’ve ever seen.

I’m talking movie-star mansion type digs…

And the guy who owns it, he turns out to be a retired Colombian cartel boss named Jose.

That’s right — he’s a living, breathing, Pablo Escobar.

But that’s not even the craziest part of the story…

I’m inside the house installing the last few wires when I hear it…

It sounds like a woman in agony. A woman screaming in pain…

…or is it pleasure?

I instinctively follow the noise and find myself on the other end of the house, just outside a back bedroom…

Here’s what happens next — warning: adult content and may contain triggers for some men

Why I’ll never use fish oil

Some people argue that the type of fats found in fish can have an anti-inflammatory effect which prevents disease.

This story is now falling apart too.

Omega-3 fish oils are similar to vegetable oils.

A recent review of the best available science concluded that fish oil supplementation has little to no benefit on cardiovascular health and lifespan.

This scientific review was conducted at the University of East Anglia, Norwich Medical School, Norwich, Norfolk, UK. The results were published in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews.

A review of the scientific literature is compiled by searching science databases for keywords on the topic in question.

After identifying human studies on the topic of fish oil supplementation…

…the researchers discarded the poorly designed experiments.

The authors then combine the information in the high-quality studies to get a comprehensive overview of the subject.

“We included randomized controlled trials that lasted at least 12 months and compared fish oil supplementation versus usual or lower intake.”

Comparing data from the best studies the authors found little evidence for fish oil lowering risk of death from any cause.

“Our analyses suggested little or no effect of increasing fish oil on all-cause mortality in 92,653 participants of 39 trials.”

Fish oil supplementation does not protect against cardiovascular disease.

“The results revealed little or no effect of increasing fish oil on cardiovascular events or cardiovascular deaths in 90,378 participants.”

Fish oil supplementation does not prevent stroke or arrhythmia – irregular heartbeat.

“Meta-analysis and sensitivity analyses suggested little or no effect of increasing fish oil on cases of stroke or arrhythmia.”

The authors found that fish oil is not useful in lowering coronary heart disease risk.

“Fish oil supplementation probably makes little or no difference to coronary heart disease event risk.”

Those findings were based on a type of fat found in fish oil called omega-3.

Some seed oils or vegetable oils also contain an omega-3 fat.

The study then looked at the effect of omega-3 fats from plant sources too.

The plant-based omega-3 fat is called α-Linolenic acid (ALA).

The plant based omega-3 fat alpha-linoleic (ALA) acid was ineffective.

“Increasing ALA intake probably makes little or no difference to all-cause mortality ,cardiovascular mortality, and coronary heart disease events.”

The analysis showed some small statistical benefit from the plant-based omega-3.

But most of this effect was seen from low-quality studies.

The masses of data accumulated in the scientific record don’t support fish oil for the prevention of major health problems.

“There was no evidence that increasing fish oil or ALA altered serious adverse events, adiposity or lipids.”

The best studies on fish oil supplementation don’t support the claims that it is a health-giving fat.

“Moderate- and high-quality evidence suggests that increasing fish oil has little or no effect on mortality or cardiovascular health.”

Fish oil and vegetable oil began life as waste products from the industrialization of fishing and agriculture.

These oils became an environmental liability.

Somehow they managed to find their way into the health food world…

Sick people and health nuts became the waste oil disposal mechanism!

The authors suggest that some of the positive studies on fish oil may not be entirely legitimate.

“Previous suggestions of benefits from fish oil supplements appear to spring from trials with higher risk of bias.”

Fresh fish and seafood in general is pretty good for your health.

Seafood contains difficult-to-get minerals and fish has unique healthy proteins.

People should not avoid fresh fish, though perhaps you should choose to eat less fatty varieties.

Diabetes, high blood pressure, low testosterone, belly fat, erections problems, even cancer — all start from uncontrolled inflammation.

And you know what causes this widespread inflammation in the body?

High estrogen levels.

Estrogen is like poison for men. It inflames the cells.

So if we can lower estrogen, we can lower inflammation and start to see positive health effects, almost instantaneously.

So how do you lower estrogen and lower widespread inflammation in the body?
