What to do with your phone so it enhances bedroom performance.
“He’s so focused.”
This is exactly what people say about great athletes and business leaders.
Whether it’s Michael Jordan, Elon Musk, or Bill Gates – the ability to focus is key to these men being successful.
More and more, focus seems to be becoming a rare trait.

That’s in large part because of the technology at our fingertips.
This is good and bad news.
If you can recognize the problem and take steps to develop your ability to sustain focus…
…then you can blast past your competition and be successful in every area.
Focus also has the HUGE benefit of helping with sexual performance in every way.
But if you don’t recognize the threat to focus for what it is, it can really drag you down.
One thing that is very quickly eroding our ability to focus is the smartphone.
Do smartphones make us stupid?
Now, I’m not going to tell you to just ditch your iPhone or Android, because smartphones give us a lot of advantages as well.
They can help us get places thanks to GPS, there are great games on them, and they help us keep in touch with friends and family.
But it’s important to recognize how distracting they can be.
And this distraction is not only an in-the-moment thing…
It can have a major effect on your brain and your ability to concentrate long-term.
“A growing body of evidence suggests that, by continuously distracting us, smartphones are harming our ability to concentrate.”
The human brain is really weird about this.
When we’re multitasking, our brain likes to tell us that we are busy and being productive.
But studies have shown over and over that multitasking actually interferes with our ability to focus and get real work done.
This can harm our performance at work and in the bedroom…
And it can even disrupt our ability to do anything else particularly well.
“We are constantly media-multitasking… that is, concurrently engaging with, and rapidly switching between, multiple media to stay connected, always updated, and always stimulated.”
“When we engage in multitasking, our performance on the primary task suffers.”
This effect feels short-term, but in reality it’s very long-term.
When we are constantly media-multitasking, it can dramatically affect our long-term ability to concentrate.
That means even when you have put your phone away, you still feel much more distracted than normal.
This is because of the way our phones interact with the dopamine in our brains.
By giving us a little shot of dopamine every time we engage in a “pleasurable” activity on our phone, we create a loop of short-term rewards.
This makes it harder and harder for us to focus on long-term goals.
If you want to get ahead in life this is a really big problem.
“Multitasking harms our ability to concentrate on any particular thing for an extended period of time. We become accustomed to switching to alternative streams of stimuli at increasingly short intervals.”
How to develop your focus…
One thing the study really highlights is that the brain is incredibly plastic.
That means it can change over time because of stimuli that it’s exposed to.
Media-multitasking creates a brain that is less attentive and less able to focus on important tasks.
But the good news is that you can switch this function off by being mindful and practicing a few basic techniques.
The first thing I recommend is to switch off your phone completely when you can.
I’m not saying to just put it on silent mode or to keep it face down on your desk.
What I’m talking about is to turn it off and power down completely.
This will give your brain space to focus.
You will probably still feel drawn to your phone and want to turn it on all the time.
This is normal. When this happens, what I want you to do is focus on your breath instead.
Focusing on your breath will help you to overcome the urge to turn your phone back on.
This will help you to build your focus muscles – just like you build your biceps at the gym – and help you to become really successful.
People who can focus the best… win.
