The 2-Minute exercise any man can do to live longer

Can yoga make you live longer? Apparently, it can. And maybe you can live decades longer, plus have a lot MORE fun and sexual pleasure…

Recently, a human study looked at the effect of yoga and meditation on aging and stress levels.

The research looked at many well-studied blood markers of stress and aging.

The results provide strong evidence that yoga and meditation can improve your health.

These researchers carried out this study at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India and published their results in the Journal of Oxidative Medicine and Cellular Longevity.

“This study was designed to explore the impact of yoga and meditation on cellular aging in apparently healthy individuals.”

The study recruited 96 healthy men and women between the ages of 30 and 65 into this 12-week study.

[cmamad id=”19241″ align=”center” tabid=”display-desktop” mobid=”display-desktop” stg=””]

“Participants were aged 30–65 years and leading unhealthy modern lifestyles.”

The subjects took part in lifestyle interventions for 90 minutes a day on weekdays during the period of the trial.

“We included components of yoga physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation which are derived from a mix of Hatha and Raja yoga.”

They did the first two weeks at a health clinic.

In the final 10 weeks, the participants performed the exercises at home.

The researchers collected key blood samples before and after the experiment.

“During this 12-week study, the participants were evaluated for various biomarkers on day 0 and week 12.”

Scientists believe that oxidative stress is one of the key factors in aging.

Oxidative stress involves rogue electrons damaging DNA cell membranes.

Yoga and meditation significantly lowered blood markers of oxidative stress and aging.

“After 12 weeks, there was significant improvement in biomarkers of cellular aging compared to baseline value.”

Reactive oxygen species (ROS) cause oxidative stress. And they went down.

“Reactive oxygen species (ROS) were significantly lower after 12 weeks.”

(Wiki: ROS are chemically reactive chemical species containing oxygen. Examples include peroxides, superoxide, hydroxyl radical.)

Antioxidants counteract reactive oxygen species.

Antioxidants also lower oxidative stress and aging.

Yoga and meditation increased the levels of antioxidants in the blood of the participants.

“Total antioxidant capacity was significantly increased at 12 weeks.”

These effects could lead to lower risk of chronic disease and longer lifespan.

People often use supplements such as vitamin C and vitamin E to achieve these results.

But naturally produced antioxidants are more protective and beneficial because they do not shift the oxidative balance as supplements can.

The researchers also tested for the levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). BDNF is produced in the brain.

BDNF is critical for long-term memory.

Recent studies have shown that brain-derived neurotrophic factor protects the brain against Alzheimer’s disease.

“The mean levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor were significantly increased by week 12.”

Yoga and meditation were also associated with significantly lower levels of cortisol.

“The levels of cortisol were significantly lower at 12 weeks.”

Cortisol is one of the best blood tests for stress.

“Sustained stress response due to chronic stress stimuli causes constantly increased cortisol levels.”

When people feel less stressed after yoga or meditation it may be because their cortisol is lower.

Cortisol causes an increase in body fat.

It’s also associated with damage to the brain (neurodegeneration).

“Cortisol can lead to systemic tissue abnormalities like increased adiposity and neurodegeneration.”

High cortisol and oxidative stress are both associated with low testosterone and infertility in men.

So these exercises could be very protective for men who are older or stressed out.

The researchers looked at half a dozen other related blood tests. All blood tests showed improvement at 12 weeks.

This research shows that yoga and meditation can have huge benefits for health.

“Yoga and meditation significantly reduced the rate of cellular aging in apparently healthy populations.”

You should always consult a healthcare professional about treating and diagnosing health problems.
