The Holy Grail of dieting and health is to eat 40% more than you’re eating now.
And never gain an ounce.
To get there, simply read today’s newsletter.
Years and years ago, a researcher named George Burr made a very serious mistake that we are all paying for today.
He wrongly concluded that the rodents he was studying needed certain fats in order to survive and thrive.
He called these essential, or essential fatty acids.
To this day, people believe that these fats are necessary to the diet.
So what happens if you raise mice without giving them essential fatty acids?
That’s what they did in the study.
They raised one group of rats with a little bit of sunflower oil.
The researchers gave the rats just enough to give them all the so-called “essential” fatty acids that they need.
Or rather that they supposedly need anyway.
Then the researchers gave another group of rats plenty of coconut oil.
Actually they gave them hydrogenated cooking oil.
They did that because the hydrogenation makes sure that not a single bit of unsaturated fat remains in that coconut oil.
And here’s what they observe.
First of all, the coconut oil rats ate 40% more!
But these rats were smaller, quite a bit smaller, and had a lot less body fat.
Their metabolic rate was way higher than the sunflower oil rats.
These rats drank a ton of water.
Researchers thought that these rats sweat a lot more.
They thought that because their higher metabolism produces a lot more heat.
You might decide to go this route.
You can lower your consumption of these so-called “essential” fatty acids to zero.
And then you deplete your body of them.
You may find that several things happen.
You may lose weight and drink more water.
And you might also find that you can eat all the food you want and never gain a pound.
If you choose to do this, you must continue to avoid these bad fats.
It could be worth your while to try it.
These coconut oil rats had 28% less body weight, mostly less fat.
These rats could eat all he wanted and could not gain weight.
This group of rats that had the coconut oil was very healthy.
The researchers tried to find things wrong with these rats, but they couldn’t.
These rats were super mega healthy rats.
It’s likely that these rats would live 30% to 40% longer lives.
There have been many other similar studies done since this one.
And they’ve found that when the rats don’t have to fight the effects of so-called “essential” fatty acids, they live much longer.
But is there something special about coconut oil?
Coconut oil in fact has many metabolism-raising qualities.
But I believe that the same result has been duplicated with other forms of fat, so long as they are fully saturated fat.
Coconut oil, like the hydrogenated coconut oil used in the study is good.
And so is beef or lamb fat.
So is good quality butter.
If you want to dramatically lose weight you have to eat like these rats.
You’ll even keep the weight off and become healthier,
You have to have very low amounts of these essential fatty acids in your body.
This is not easy.
These essential fatty acids are polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs).
Because people thought they were healthy, these “essential fatty acids” are everywhere.
Canola oil, fish oil, Krill oil, cottonseed oil, soy oil, sunflower seed oil, peanut oil — all these oils and many more contain very high levels of PUFAs.
So when you eat these foods that contain these oils, you’re getting high amounts of PUFAs.
You’re going to be fatter and your metabolism is can be much slower.
This is one of many studies showing longer life and greater health with some simple nutritional tweaks that you can make.
One of those tweaks is avoid all forms of PUFAs.
