Many people don’t understand how important calcium is to the body.

That’s because calcium seems to be both bad and good.

So we’re confused.

Calcium can build up in the penile tissue and in the arteries and clog things up.

It causes plaque and high blood pressure and atherosclerosis.

But of course, our bones need calcium.

Scientists now realize that we are probably not getting nearly enough vitamin D3, vitamin K2, and calcium.

In this study, scientists established that obese patients could lose as much as 5 kg of body fat simply by increasing their dietary calcium.

Calcium consumption was the only change in their lifestyles.

The researchers then determined that high-calcium diets also restrict the accumulation of fat.

They tested this in mice first.

Mice given extra calcium gained 40% less weight than equivalent mice who received normal amounts of calcium.

They also looked at a huge set of data from a gigantic multi-decade study.

The data showed that low calcium consumption contributed greatly to obesity.

Increasing dietary calcium suppresses adipocyte intracellular calcium and thereby modulates energy metabolism and limits obesity risk

I would normally hesitate to discuss a study like this because it was funded partly by the dairy industry.

However, I think the study is sound.

We shouldn’t ignore a good study just because of who funded it.

In this study, obese African-American men saw major decreases in body fat, just by adding to their diet…

two cups of plain yogurt every day.

And the study authors believe it is because of the calcium in the yogurt.

Their calcium intake was increased from about 450 mg per day to over 1,000 mg per day during the 12 months of supplementation.

One reason for this weight loss may be the fact that calcium raises body temperature.

That’s good for your metabolism whether you want to lose weight or not.

I am very much in favor of increasing calcium intake, especially by consuming

oyster shell calcium, eggshell calcium, and more dairy products.

These are the safest sources of calcium.

Other sources are mined from the ground and contain heavy metals such as thallium and cadmium.

Those are heavy metals that build up in the body.

Try increasing your calcium levels (from safe sources) and your vitamin D3 and vitamin K, and watch your fat melt away.
