Did you know that ordinary cells in your body are receptive to certain frequencies of light?
It’s not just plants that need light. People need light too.
And it turns out that certain frequencies of light can actually help fix illnesses and make you healthier.
These frequencies are in the red or near-infrared range. You’ll see a red light, and your eyes will dimly perceive near infrared or not see it at all.

So in this review, Harvard researchers explored the probable mechanisms for light being so effective.
I personally have purchased and used the Tendlite(r), which is this.
It is expensive, but it does work. They claim it helps joint pain, and I have found that it does.
you don’t need a laser!
A big misconception is that you need a laser to do this. You do not.
And you can use much less expensive LED fixtures and lights instead of the expensive alternative such as the Tendlite light above.
As these researchers say, low-level light therapy
is used by physical therapists to treat a wide variety of acute and chronic musculoskeletal aches and pains, by dentists to treat inflamed oral tissues and to heal diverse ulcerations, by dermatologists to treat edema, non-healing ulcers, burns, and dermatitis, by orthopedists to relieve pain and treat chronic inflammations and autoimmune diseases, and by other specialists…and in sports-medicine and rehabilitation clinics (to reduce swelling and hematoma, relieve pain, improve mobility, and treat acute soft-tissue injuries)…LEDs are applied directly to the respective areas (e.g., wounds, sites of injuries) or to various points on the body (acupuncture points, muscle-trigger points).
It is possible that low-level light therapy is mostly a placebo effect.
But I don’t believe that is so.
Many people use low-level light therapy to treat their dog, the cat, or the horse. And their animals respond very well to the treatment.
And you can try low-level light therapy yourself.
It seems that it’s very safe, but as with all therapies, you should talk to your doctor if there is any doubt.
Of course, the safest way to try low-level light therapy is to stand out in the sun. the studies that I have seen make a convincing case that red light is most healing, and blue light may actually not be healing at all, or maybe a bit harmful.
But we are designed to be exposed to sunlight, and so if you’re not going to go the LED or laser route, consider getting a lot more sun.
What I’m doing now is using inexpensive incandescent heat lamps to get a lot of red or infrared light as I use the computer during the day.
And I’m feeling a lot better from it.
