Beware this common prostate remedy that’s causing Alzheimer’s in men

Know the facts before your doctor recommends this…

Story-At-a-Glance

Matt Cook here, and I’ve heard so many horror stories from men who get what they think is a necessary and helpful prostate treatment…

Only to suffer more after the treatment than they ever did before…

With poor or no rockiness, no sex drive, and no confidence.

And it really makes my blood boil — but all of this can be avoided.

Here’s what you need to know about your prostate before taking anything for it…

Friend, recently I was hanging out on the set of one of “those” movies, you know… the triple X kind?

And I’m there witnessing a man, at the ripe old age of 70, maintain a strong boner for up to 6 hours!

In front of hot studio lights, with cameramen watching.

And he does it like it’s nothing.

In fact, he’s shooting over 300 of “those” movies a year and still going strong.

Quite frankly, I’m in awe. So afterwards, I ask him…

“What makes it possible for you to be “rocky” for hours and do all these girls? When you are over 70?”

And he winks and takes me back to his dressing room, where he shows me what he eats before every shoot.

“Anyone eating these foods will get these results,” he says.

So what is it he’s eating? Just eat one of these 5 foods each day.

Beware this common prostate remedy that’s causing Alzheimer’s in men

On a VERY regular basis men write to me with horror stories about the after effects of prostate cancer treatment.

Often, these letters have to do with sexual dysfunction…

…but many surgeries and “procedures” for prostate cancer can also lead to incontinence and pain.

This makes my blood boil because most prostate cancer doesn’t spread.

It stays contained in the prostate and often watching it without doing anything at all is the best course of action.

Keeping an eye on non-aggressive prostate cancer rather than using one of the many, many treatment options on the market…

…also has the benefit of having no treatment-induced side effects.

NOTE: This is where I’ve got to tell you that I’m not a doctor and I can’t give you medical advice.

If you are diagnosed with prostate cancer, you need to consult with your doctor to figure out the best course of action for your individual situation.

Beyond the pain, erections problems, and incontinence issues that often come with prostate cancer treatment…

…there is another symptom that may be lurking for you down the road.

If you opt to treat with something called androgen deprivation therapy, then you ALSO risk dementia and/or Alzheimer’s.

What are androgens?

Androgens are a fancy term for male sex hormones.

These promote male characteristics and include hormones like testosterone and DHT.

Androgens (male sex hormones) are a class of hormones that control the development and maintenance of male characteristics. Testosterone and dihydrotestosterone (DHT) are the most abundant androgens in men. Almost all testosterone is produced in the testicles; a small amount is produced by the adrenal glands. In addition, some prostate cancer cells acquire the ability to make testosterone from cholesterol.

Androgens are produced mainly in the testes, and they can fuel the growth of prostate cancer.

What is Androgen Deprivation Therapy (ADT)?

Androgen deprivation therapy suppresses the body’s natural production of testosterone and other androgens.

Treatments that reduce androgen production by the testicles are the most commonly used hormone therapies for prostate cancer and the first type of hormone therapy that most men with prostate cancer receive. This form of hormone therapy (also called androgen deprivation therapy, or ADT)

It’s used to “starve” the prostate cancer, but has the very nasty side effect of lowering sex drive, energy, muscle mass, and feelings of wellbeing.

Androgen deprivation is strongly associated with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

ADT isn’t something you should EVER decide on lightly.

It basically wipes out the hormones that make you male.

But androgen deprivation also has another side effect that we are only just starting to discover.

It creates a STRONG disposition for developing dementia and/or Alzheimer’s later in life.

In this cohort study of 154,089 elderly men with prostate cancer, androgen deprivation therapy exposure was associated with subsequent diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or dementia over a follow-up period of at least 10 years.

I can’t speak for you, but dementia and/or Alzheimer’s disease are not things I EVER want to have to go through.

The good news is that many prostate cancers don’t need to be treated.

They do just fine hanging out in the prostate.

You and your doctor just need to monitor them. And even if you do have prostate cancer, you often can get relief through natural methods.

If you are faced with the choice of treating prostate cancer or not, be sure you really understand the negative effects of many of these treatments…

…and work with your doctor to decide the best path forward for you!
