Men: beware sunscreen containing this toxic ingredient

Young Beautiful Couple using Sunscreen at Poolside.

They’re still allowed to sell and market this toxic ingredient under a different name — and it’s still bad for you!

Story-At-a-Glance

Matt Cook here, and some shocking tests were performed with different popular brands of sunscreen…

And most of these sunscreens contained an ingredient that turned toxic when exposed to UV rays!

Isn’t the whole point of sunscreen to protect you from UV rays… not poison you when you go out in the sun?

It’s crazy — and men aren’t being told the truth about what’s in their sunscreen.

So do me a favor and check your bottles for this one toxic ingredient…

Men: these are the top 3 ingredients you need for a healthy prostate

Top ingredient #1: saw palmetto berries

The University of Michigan Health says this helps regulate DHT and protect the prostate from inflammation.

Top ingredient #2: Graviola leaf

Thought to work by forcing cancer cells through the normal cell “death cycle” which stops the cancer from forming and spreading.

Top ingredient #3: unique Japanese mushroom trio

These 3 mushrooms, Maitake, Reishi and Shiitake, can help naturally boost protective testosterone levels that are good for the prostate.

And they’ve also been proven to have incredible health properties by one study in the Journal of Oxidative Medicine and Cellular Longevity!

Here’s how to get these 3 top prostate ingredients in one simple natural tablet

Men: beware sunscreen containing this toxic ingredient

I think for most people there is an assumption of safety in the products that we use and that’s especially true for products you can go into just about any store and buy…

…like sunscreen.

But many of these products aren’t as safe as they seem at first glance.

They also don’t come with warning labels or any other indication that they may be dangerous.

In the case of sunscreen, we also get marketing that makes us think that it is a product that is protective of our health.

That’s what the marketing says. Right?

But incredibly, with a product that is DESIGNED to be used directly with sunlight and UV exposure there hasn’t been a lot of testing done to see how these products react to UV exposure.

“There have been several studies that showed sunscreens can quickly react under UV exposure — the specifically intended setting for their use — so it’s pretty surprising how little toxicity testing has been done on the photodegradation products,” Truong said.

It also should be noted that the sunscreen market is HUGE, with it estimated to be worth $24 billion dollars by 2030.

So the manufacturers of these products have a financial incentive to not get negative studies released!

In a study coming out of Oregon State University the researchers looked at how zinc oxide works when exposed to UV rays.

They used Zebrafish as their subjects because they react with remarkable similarity to humans in many ways.

The toxicity analysis involved zebrafish, which share a remarkable similarity to humans at the molecular, genetic and cellular levels, meaning many zebrafish studies are immediately relevant to people.

Sunscreens that contain zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are being marketed more as people have concerns about ingredients like oxybenzone which may hurt coral reefs.

“And sunscreens containing inorganic compounds like zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, that block UV rays, are being marketed more and more heavily as safe alternatives to the organic small-molecule compounds that absorb the rays,” Tanguay said.

Zinc oxide came up with some surprising (and disturbing) results in these tests.

First, when zinc oxide was mixed with other types of organic sunscreen, the organic sunscreen became far less efficient after exposure to UV light.

“With either size of particle, zinc oxide degraded the organic mixture and caused a greater than 80% loss in organic filter protection against ultraviolet-A rays, which make up 95% of the UV radiation that reaches the Earth,” Santillan said.

When the zinc oxide was exposed to UV light it also started causing defects in the Zebrafish!

“Also, the zinc-oxide-induced photodegradation products caused significant increases in defects to the zebrafish we used to test toxicity. That suggests zinc oxide particles are leading to degradants whose introduction to aquatic ecosystems is environmentally hazardous.”

That means that zinc oxide based sunscreen could become toxic to humans as well as disrupting marine environments!

I’m not a big fan of over-regulation, but I think that this study is something you should know about BEFORE you put sunscreen on next.

The researchers sum it up well:

“The findings would surprise many consumers who are misled by ‘nano free’ labels on mineral-based sunscreens that imply the sunscreens are safe just because they don’t contain those smaller particles. Any size of metal oxide particle can have reactive surface sites, whether it is less than 100 nanometers or not. More important than size is the metal identity, its crystal structure and any surface coatings.”

Remember, corporations care about profits, and not so much about you as an individual.

That’s why it’s important to remember to be alert and well educated as a buyer.
